Nope not going to happen he's the best thing to happen to this team. No way in hell we get rid of him over a half season injury plagued year.

I would be extremely surprised if that were to happen. So many injuries to deal with this year it's not even funny.

Not even close to a realistic comparison. Take 6-8 starters out, every night, then it would be a fair.

What it comes down to, is somebody has to come last place. Everybody expected Columbus to be the worst and they're right there at the line.

Not everybody is going to be a good team and Florida was barely a good team last year. They won the division with 38-26-18 record. 4 wins back of 7th place Washington and 5 points ahead of 9th place Buffalo. You actually lost more games than you won!!!

You played not-to-lose hockey last year in a weak division and took advantage. You guys still had a long way to go and you knew that. Now you're placing last in a short season and getting a future superstar out of it. Let Tallon keep building!

If you read the blog you would understand our AHL depth is weak Tallon built this team from the ground up for the most part. Our AHL team is just starting to get our prospects.

The only reason they made the playoffs last year in San antiono was because markstrom carried them on his back!

The pens are one of the deepest teams in the league so your comparison is useless.

Hey Dan if you had the #1 pick who would you pick or what would you do with it in your opinion?

Agreed if it happened I would lose any faith that this team wants to win.

That would be ridiculous, Tallon has stockpiled talent on this team since the day he arrived, all the fans in miami have to do is wait it out, Once you're rocking a fully developed Huberdeau, Bjugstad, Shore, Howden, Trocheck, Petrovic, Robak, Gudbranson, Kulikov in place of some lesser players like Kuba, Jovo, Upshall, Goc, Matthias, etc, you'll the true results of Tallons work. And it'll be impressive.

Huberdeau-Bjugstad-Mueller
Fleischmann-Weiss-Versteeg
Howden-Trocheck-Shore
Bergenheim-Matthias-Kopecky

Campbell-Gudbranson
Petrovic-Kulikov
Robak-Weaver

Markstrom

Hell of a good looking roster a year or two away.

I agree, that is a good looking roster, although you'll probably have to remove Weiss, as I think he'll sign elsewhere this summer. Also, you also probably slot Seth Jones right into that lineup if that is the direction the Panthers go.

If Weiss goes I see us drafting mackinnon to replace him hopefully he can jump in right away but tallon likes to take his time and let them develop. Which I'm fine with that's the best thing to do unless they got nothing else to prove at juniors.

Tallon is not in jeopardy.

I also understand that there are rumors with some evidence behind them that Viner recently sold his ownership interest to another party.

Regardless, ticket sales were good despite the awful team, the farm system is stocked, we'll get a couple more studs this draft, and we'll get healthy players back.

This will be our 3rd top-5 pick in a 4 year period, that has been a recipe for success down the road for most Cup winners since Carolina won it.

In the meantime, enjoy watching the kids develop!

Changing the GM or the coach would be a mistake. It would just be a mirror image if what this organization has done in the past. Different GM and coach every 3 years. No wonder there's no stability w this team. If this happens uou can pretty much kiss this team goodbye.

And you're comfortable with two rookies centering the top two lines? Man some ppl are clueless. That should def help them grow as NHL players.

First off I never said he would start in the top 6. Second and who are you going to sign to take over Weiss if he leaves? You continue to insult me but I never heard a counter argument because obviously you have a master plan. If you haven't noticed FA doesn't have much to choose from right now.

And without Weiss and with a very weak UFA center class we might be looking at another top 5 pick again next year. If they fire Tallon or Dineen then we really are in trouble. Maybe mike Keenan will want to come back here for a 3rd try.

I want to say that Tallon has done a Brilliant job with this team and it is actually heading in a clear positive direction in the first time in a while. Fans should be very proud of this team.

However I will say that Meuller, Flash, Steeg and Weiss are all decent players but I wouldn't consider any of them 1st line material. Also I am not sure if Weiss will be back.

Also you never know how players will develop and how good they will actually be, especially Dmen, generally unless they are a very high pick.

Hey Fla fans, if Weiss decides to leave and MGMT decides to draft an offensive player instead of Jones then it makes perfect sense to trade down. Who would you try and trade down with and what trade would you choose?

having Bjugstand and Howden recording 0 points in their handful of games really isn't exciting anyone. Also Gudbranson's blunder in the off season and his horrible play is showing us what a bust he's turning into.

Not excited until this team starts winning hockey games.

Hey look, down 4-0 at home. What else is new.....??

No, but in a cap world you can either load your top line up, or scatter your whole lineup with good depth - in fact, that's proven to be more effective most times. Even Pittsburgh wouldn't be what they are if all those bottom 6 guys and their entire D core wasn't capable of high level play.

Drafted players have 3 years at crazy low salary, fla still needs more TOP end talent on offense and maybe some more size. Great bottom 6 and some good Dmen.

Drouin imo would be perfect for you
